One way of learning is being in touch with what is happening in other cultures. The Chinese community celebrates their new year, starting today February 19th, and celebrations spread over a week. Among various activities that we recommend to make with your kids, here we show you a recipe of Chinese rice, which is very healthy and easy to make.
This is a rice vegetarian style , so it has no meat. It’s your choice to add chicken or your favorite meat .
CHINESE VEGETARIAN RICE
PREP 5 minutes
COOKING 20 minutes
TOTAL 25 minutes
SERVING: 2 people
1 cup rice
½ cup chives
½ cup of peppers
½ cup of chili (not spicy)
1 or 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1. Cook rice according to the manufacturer’s instructions and let it cool. Ideally, cook it the day before .
2. Beat the egg and let it cool.
3. In a wok or skillet add oil and cook over medium -high heat the garlic cloves , finely chopped the onion , peppers and carrots into cubes for a couple of minutes. Add eggs and leave it for another couple of minutes.
4. Add the rice, soy sauce and cook for a couple of minutes or until rice is hot.
5.Finally add the chives and cook it for a few minutes.
