EASY BASIL PITA BREAD PIZZA

We all love pizza, and who says it can’t be healthy? Replace the greasy ingredients and add more flavor and nutrition to your plate. I also think it’s an excellent opportunity to introduce new flavors to kids, like the basil leave.

This is my simple recipe, full of flavor and easy to do. I hope you try it!

 

INGREDIENTS

 

  • 4 flat pita breads/flat bread (2 people)
  • Your favorite tomato sauce
  • cherry tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup basil leaves.
  • Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • Turkey Ham (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400º F. Spread the tomato sauce on pita bread. Cover with cheddar cheese.
  2. Layer tomatoes, mozzarella and ham. Top with the basil leaves and bake for 15 minutes. (My option is to add the basil leaves after is baked, I really enjoy the flavor of the basil) Remove from oven, cut into 4 slices and enjoy!

  1. Holy moly, I think I just got a twitch from wantnig that so badly.Fortunately when I get home I’m totally going to hit that. I have one beautiful tomato left from my last farmers market visit and basil in my garden!!
