Teaching opportunities in the summer

posted in: Preschool | 1

One of the main goals, when I started this blog, Educcorner was to show ideas that are accessible to all, and easy materials that do not affect the family budget. So following this goal, here I propose two ideas with materials easy to find in summer time while you are traveling with your kids to the forest, park or beach. We collected stones and shells, for a fun learning moment. Remember that engaging your kids, in the learning process is a great lesson for life. It’s a responsibility that helps to observe their environment carefully looking for opportunities to continue learning.

For this activity you will use:
Pebbles
Shells
Marker

1. The first activity is making patterns. Let your kids make their patterns and also identify what comes next. This activity is appropriate for preschoolers; it helps them to improve their logical and observation skills.

2. The second activity is a numerical sequence. You can help them to count by 1′s, 5′s or 10′s.

3. Another fun way is forming words, especially in the literacy process. Family words are great at this age.

  1. I really love your blog.. Great colors & theme. Did you develop this amazing site yourself?
Please reply back as I’m planning to create my very own blog and would love to find out where you got this from or exactly what the theme is named.

    Many thanks!
